Salman Khan, Zarine Khan starrer Anil Sharma’s epic ‘Veer’ which opened yesterday at theatres worldwide, has done excellent business at single screen theatres in North India, especially in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

The audiences were seen in awe of Salman Khan’s aura and terrific performance and loved his part.

The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that Salman Khan starrer is an expensive film costing around Rs 80 crore and so to recover this huge money, Salman Khan will need all the help and blessings from his fans for the film.

Salman Khan had a special screening for close buddy Aamir Khan who flew off to Los Angeles for the screening of his home production Peepli Live at the Sundance film festival — and even advised him about Veer.

According to Source “Aamir was flying off to LA on Wednesday night so Salman kept a screening only for him at Ketnav in the afternoon. There was no way that Salman was going to let Veer release without asking Aamir what he thought about it since Aamir is known to have a keen sense of scripts and commercial cinema.

After watching Veer, Aamir told Salman that though he loved the film he wouldn’t have been able to do a film of this scale and magnitude. Veer wasn’t his kind of film as it was commercial and larger-than-life with its massy, dramatic scenes and fights.”

Aamir also told Salman to write more scripts and stories. “He felt that Salman was a writer who had a fine sense of storytelling. Aamir thought that what came across that Salman loved writing and he should write more especially on topics that inspired him.”

Veer movie, it is found that Salman Khan is warrior as well as survivor of the movie. Veer movie is expected to perform well in the box office due to Salman star power. The main attractions of the Veer movie are star cast, story, music and amazing sets.

It was close to 20 years ago, that Salman Khan first conceived the idea of an epic warrior’s story that will finally be out in a film directed by Anil Sharma, Veer. And Khan seems to be pleased with the end product.

“I always wanted to be a director and would have made this film. But destiny turned me into an actor instead,” said Khan, dressed in a crisp red shirt, while making a fleeting appearance at Delhi’s FICCI auditorium for the film’s promotion.

“The budget was too high for this idea then, over 20 years ago; nobody took risks with period films,” says Khan. “You always run the risk of not being able to accurately portray period settings and it can end up being tacky.”

The team of Eros International’s Veer has been looking forward to this day with great anticipation as the mega project finally hits the big screens across the country. Salman, who has an eye for spotting talent, will introduce Zarine Khan in his dream project.

Salman took great interest in the making of the film. Speaking about his helpful ways, According to  Zarine , “Salman taught me a lot of things. He never threw starry tantrums. I had heard that he gets angry quickly, but that’s not true. He’s a genuine person. There would be times when I would not get a shot right, but he never yelled at me. He would explain the shot in great detail and show me how to do it. He is perfect for the role. He is the perfect warrior.” Looks like with his princess by his side, warrior Salman is all set to win the box office battle once again.

Aamir Khan was so impressed with Salman Khan’s latest flick that after watching the film he talked to Salman about half an hour on phone and pointed out that father-son relationship, depicted in the film, was lovely. Aamir Khan even saw in that father-son relationship (in the film father is played by Mithun Chakravorthy and son by Salman Khan) an element of Salman Khan’s own life. However, Aamir Khan felt that ‘Veer’ was not his kind of cinema and he would not have been able to perform such scenes on such a huge scale.

In his endeavour to promote his new film Veer, Salman Khan is going all-out to prove he’s the new-age Manoj Kumar, Salman has transformed into the perennial patriot promoting nationalism and brotherhood at any given cause. According to sources , Salman will now be a part of the Republic Day parade on 26 January to not only participate in the event but also to comment on the whole concept of freedom and independence in the contemporary context.

According to source, “This is Salman’s golden opportunity to clean up his image. He wants to wipe out his anti-establishment image. He has made up with the media. Now he wants to project himself as someone who cares deeply for his country.”

Producer Vijay Galani confirms Salman’s presence and participation at the Republic Day parade in Delhi on January 26. Says Galani, “Salman will be seen live on a Hindi channel at the Republic Day parade talking about what freedom and independence mean to Indians.”

Salman Khan, the macho man of bollywood who plays the character of a Pindari warrior in Anil Sharma’s upcoming flick ‘Veer’(opposite Zarine Khan), will be fighting for the social justice and independence much like Mel Gibson’s iconic flick from Hollywood ‘Braveheart’.

Another similarity between Salman Khan’s movie ‘Veer’ and that of Mel Gibson’s ‘Braveheart’ is that the script of both had been written by their super star actors who played lead in their respective films. Both the actors had a fabulous physique and a very good screen presence and it helped them in playing the character of warriors on the celluloid.

As the film involves war in British India, the shooting involved thousands of fighters, horses, camels and hundreds of elephants in action sequences. The director and the whole unit had to go to vast stretches of Rajasthan to enact these war scenes realistically. These huge contingents of fighters were especially needed in war scenes as also during the train robbery sequences.
